Now, for the first time, anyone can easily make a 3-D movie using C3D4U's compact mini DV format camcorder. The 3-D images are viewed using an electronic adaptor and special liquid crystal glasses for unbelievable three-dimensional realism. C3D4U engineers have successfully combined these functions in a compact camcorder-size body and have eliminated the complex adjustments once manually required by the operator. This means that superb 3-D color videos can now be made like professional for recreational, business, medical, industrial and educational uses. Incorporating two "eye-like" microcamera heads, the 3-D camcorder simultaneously records two pictures- each from a slightly different angle- one for each eye. That difference creates the dimension of the image. Using two 1/2-inch. high-resolution 3CCD imagers, the 3-D CAM serially records pictures onto a mini DV video cassette tape. Upon playback, using the special glasses and electronic adaptor synchronized with the images, the right and left views are shuttered in quick succession so that the respective images are seen by the appropriate eye. The right eye sees the right recorded image; the left, the left-hand image. The electronic adaptor synchronizes these two staggered fields fast enough that the human brain combines them to create a single 3-D image.
